Kruger Energy is responsible for managing and operating the Lidya Energy biogas power plant. Lidya Energy captures and transforms into electricity the biogas generated by the Lachute landfill where domestic waste from the Outaouais region and from municipalities north of Montreal is buried.
With an installed capacity of 9.975 megawatts (MW), the Lidya Energy power plant produces 8 gigawatt hours (GWh) annually, which is sufficient to meet the energy needs of approximately 5,000 homes.
